There are so many things you can do in order to hatch a great new business. Consider these five great ideas:
1. Make sure your business idea is something that doesn’t require much effort of others.
2. Keep your promises very specific.
3. Go in a unique or opposite direction from your competition.
4. Be first at something, so you’re not playing catch-up.
5. Take the applications you’re already using, and expand it to other products or services.
Let’s take a closer look at these ideas. Not everyone wants to do a lot for themselves, and others are so busy that they have very little time to do anything else or to get involved with anything else. Because that’s the case, they aren’t interested in being taught how to do something for themselves. They want the convenience of having everything handed to them. If you can provide them with that and make sure that the promises you’re giving them are specific, you’re already partway there with your business idea.
As for being unique or taking a different direction, you don’t want to be different just for the sake of being different, but you do want to see if there’s a way you can be unique and different from your competition in a way that customers and potential customers can relate to. If you can’t be unique, perhaps there’s a “hook” of some kind you can use that goes against what your competition is doing in some way. That can get you noticed for all the right reasons.
First is good. If you can be first at something, you can get a large share of the market before other companies have a chance to do so. Others will certainly come along and copy you, but that’s to be expected anytime a person or a company comes up with something new. Overall, the best thing you can do is find a way to be different, unique, and first. Those three things together can really allow you to shine when it comes to bringing in more customers.
No matter what you’re offering to customers at the moment, there are still other things you can offer. Take what you’re doing with your current product or service, and expand the application to other products and services. That way, you’ll be able to use the applications you already have instead of creating new ones. A lot of time and money can be saved that way, and customers who are used to how your business normally does things will be happy to see that there aren’t big changes being made.
